J.D. Salinger

J.D. Salinger, the legendary author, youth hero from fame whose "The Cather in the Rye," breathed his last on Wednesday, January 27th. He was 91 years old and he died of natural causes at his small isolated home placed in New Humpshire. This worldwide news surprized me so much since I thought he had already passed away many years ago. (I'm sorry for making a rude remark.)

His death became a trigger of informing his life and famous novels all over the world. Till I read the newspaper about him, I didn't know he was sometimes considered as a mysterious and enigmatic author because he prefered to live in a remote place as he didn't really like to communicate with people and didn't publish his stories for 44 years in spite of having written.

Having run through newspaper, I found a sad story of him (sort of) about what his ex-girlfirend, Joyce Maynard, had done. She was a 18 year-old girlfirend when he was about 50. I'm amazed of it, but what she did after breaking up was wrong, in my opinion. You know? She sold 14 love letters sent by J.D. Salinger at auction to get money for her child in 1999. And the final value of his letters was 150,000 dollars! I couldn't honestly beleive it. At first I felt it's amazing, but later I thought of J.D. Salinger's feeling at that time. I could see the reason why he lived in a isolated home, somehow and the reason why people mentioned that the main character of "The Cather in the Rye", Holden Caulfield, is part of the author's personality.

Pray for the repose of his soul-------.
